WHAT WE DO

post_img_placeholderiWe are very good at audio-visual translation, adaptation and subtitling and the proud providers of accurate translation services from and into English, French and Romanian.
We translate and adapt movie scripts, spotting lists and dialogue lists, matching them to the image and the sound. In order to get a good translation, we prefer to always work with the video file (sent via transfer or uploaded on an FTP server) or the DVD, and to have all the complementary information that ensures the perfect reception of the film: genre, marketing context, media campaign, target audience, target culture etc. The translator would highly appreciate meta-textual information, special references and a glossary of unusual, dialectal or slag terms, where necessary. We also guarantee the protection of the confidentiality of your documents and state it clearly in the written contract we sign at the very beginning of the translation project.

Our 11 years of experience also cover translation of post-production scripts, statements of intent, director’s notes, treatments and synopses, translation and editing of festival catalogues, brochures and flyers, subtitling during film projection in cinema halls, insertion of subtitles on digital support, hiring of electronic devices for subtitling (laptop, video projector).
We occasionally translate from Spanish into Romanian and sometimes accept types of documents other than those mentioned above, like contracts, certificates, user’s manuals etc.

We also provide proofreading services for any previously translated text you might have that needs to be revised or modified. In that case, we will need the original and the translated version.
For literary translations, we collaborate with proofreaders whose mother tongue is the target language. They are writers, editors or professional translators. Please keep in mind that a special fee is required if you decide to use their services.

We have got our subtitling projection system, which displays subtitles over film, simultaneous to the film projection in the cinema hall. You can either rent our equipment and get basic training in using it or rent our equipment and our subtitling operator for your event.
Why need simultaneous or real time subtitling? First of all, the costs can be lower than those of preparing electronic subtitles and time-coded dialogue lists prior to your film event. You also save time, which is important in the case of film festivals, where all sorts of supports are used and it is sometimes difficult and time consuming to match all the dialogue lists to the film file. Moreover, in the case of archive films, old copies, 35mm copies or tapes, the simultaneous subtitling is the only solution.
